TV5 ties up with COMELEC

  MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and TV5 Network, Inc. have forged a partnership for the faster dissemination of vital information in connection with the May 2016 Presidential elections. As part of its corporate social responsibility program, TV5 will provide computer hardware and equipment for the COMELEC’s voter’s information campaign, precinct finder program and its count on Election Day. The equipment will augment COMELEC’s own existing infrastructure. TV5, for its part, will develop an app where voter’s can check on the status and find their precinct until Election Day.  The memorandum of agreement was signed on Dec. 16 by COMELEC chairman lawyer J. Andres Bautista and TV5 president Emmanuel C. Lorenzana. RMN joins TV5’s Bilang Pilipino

MANILA, Philippines - TV5 launched yesterday its election coverage campaign, promising unparalleled engagement with Filipino voters via data-driven content pushed over broadcast, digital, mobile and social platforms. DWIZ, RPN forge pact to widen Reach

TV5 union fears Dole resumption of jurisdiction

  FEARING of "intrusion" from Malacanang, the Associated Broadcasting Company Employees Union (ABCEU) on Thursday sounded the alarm over the possible issuance of an Assumption of Jurisdiction by the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in the former's ongoing labor dispute with the management of broadcast giant, TV5. In a statement, the workers' union of TV5 said they will not be surprised if the Dole issues such an order on their pending Notice of Strike (NOS) if only to follow the wishes of Malacanang. "During conciliation hearings, it was impressed upon the Union panel that the mighty power in Malacañang Palace has already expressed interesting concern over the Union's NOS and the conciliator was given a directive that all must be done by Dole to fix the situation and prevent the NOS from fully erupting," said the ABCEU. Media company TV5 could be facing protests as talks between the company’s labor union about job security came to a standstill last month.The Associated Broadcasting Company Employees Union (ABCEU) has filled a strike notice with the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) after TV5 refused to negotiate towards creating a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) against job contractualization.The union is opposing a company policy that can declare certain regular positions as redundant, which could lead TV5 to lay-off employees and replaced by lower paid contractual or third-party-hired workers.In their CBA meeting last November 2019, TV5 insisted that it was not the venue for discussing the issue about the policy.“What we are asking to be included in the CBA, would be for management to first consult us before changing the name or position.   MANILA, Philippines - The new TV5 management and the employees’ union signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) bringing to a fruitful conclusion months of negotiations on their collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The MOA represents earnest efforts on all parties to come up with an agreement that includes employees’ improved benefits — i.e., increased wages, more medical and hospitalization benefits, a rebuilding fund, etc. — and ensures the network’s future growth. According to TV5 and Cignal TV president and CEO Jane Basas, â€œWe are very happy that we can now move forward and continue a productive partnership with our employees. Ito ay may kaugnayan pa rin sa inihaing notice of strike ng unyon noong December 13, 2019, Biyernes. Maglalabas daw agad sila ng pahayag sa resulta ng kanilang pagpupulong.

  All’s well that ends well sa pagitan ng pamunuan ng TV5 at ng employees union (ABC Employees Union) ng nasabing TV network na nagkaroon ng maayos na dayalogo at pagkakasundo nung February 19, 2020 na ginanap mismo sa bagong tanggapan ng Kapatid Network sa Mandaluyong City kaya hindi na matutuloy ang bantang strike ng nasabing employees union. Base sa demand ng ABCEU, nagkasundo ang magkabilang panig sa P3,000 wage increase, P20,000 signing bonus, 14th month pay at rice incentive na nagkakahalaga ng P1,300 buwan-buwan. Bago ang dialogue between TV5 management at ng kanilang employees union, nag-extend ang TV network ng early retirement sa marami nilang empleyado at marami ang nag-avail dito.
