Word of God Network Shutting Down After 10 Years on Air?
Word of God Network is rumored to be shutting down
WORD OF GOD NETWORK – The only predominantly longest-running Religious program on free-to-air television in the Philippines, might bid farewell by the end of January 2025.
MANILA, Philippines – The news surfaced on January 24, 2025, suggesting that the religious production company's operations could cease by the month's end due to financial losses. Originally, the religious agreement between TV5 Network, Inc. (formerly ABC Development Corporation) and Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) was set to expire at the end of 2025, but the company appears unable to sustain it.
The other-religion might temporary return to Jesuit Communications religious shows on TV5. However, concerns among Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) personnel have risen, with some fearing job losses. A memo instructing a general assembly on January 22, 2025, was reportedly issued, but the agenda remains unspecified. Speculations suggest that the broadcast might continue until October 2025.
TV5 President and CEO Guido R. Zaballero signed the memo, and there are rumors that the partnership agreement with Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) won't be renewed due to financial constraints. If the agreement isn't renewed, the religious program might revert to operating as Jesuit Communications religious shows on TV5 or form a partnership with TV5. Jesuit Communications (JesCom Foundation).
Despite the uncertainty, the situation is yet to be confirmed, and more details are expected to emerge during the general assembly. A cryptic post by TV5 news anchor and TV host Cheryl Cosim, featuring the religious TV program's black and white logo, adds an air of uncertainty. As of now, TV5 Network, Inc. has not released an official statement regarding these reports.
Meanwhile, Word of God Network began airing in October 3, 2015 under the produced by Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) and aired on TV5.
